13 years ago. We have pecky cypress walls in our living room. We just used satin polyurethane on it. Two coats. Don't go heavy with the application or you will get poly collecting briefly in the "pecks" that will result in runs and drips. I wish to seal the wood but not stain it. I want to keep the natural look of the wood but protect it from the elements. Very little of the wood gets direct sun.
