Based on the suffix TJA I found it is one of two motors. 1973, 160hp conversion cab truck, or 1979, 165hp forward cab w/ AT. Based on the 3998991 heads (1972/1973) I would think it is the 160HP model. So Pretty much LOW compression motor.The 3970010 casting was introduced by GM in 1969 and was used through 1975. Also, he said he got it out of a truck so that eliminates the 302 and almost completely eliminates the 327. Go 30 over this time and then 10 over for each rebuilt after. If you go 60 over now then when it comes time to rebuild you will be screwed and have to buy a new block.
