Again any good base should be in relatively close proximity to an obelisk. If you are looking to farm thralls, don’t be stupid and farm Sepermeru like other people have stated but rather build an enclosed wheel of pain near the Mounds of the Dead and farm it hard, the fighter thralls are some of the best in the game. 1.

The small plateau is just a lower part of the hill, so for the location of resources both are fine. However, the hill itself provides more ground to build your base on, but its closer to the NCP camp. There's great access to stone, iron, wood, and high tier thralls, and the all important obelisk is very close. There's water for fishing, and bark and plant matter in decent quality for small scale work. No brimstone at all, but that's where being right next door to the obelisk comes in.
