My 2014 Silverado had no reading on temp gauge, fan running high and continuing to run after turned off. Took it to car wash/oil change place, told them the problem. Guy said he had that before. He took off one battery cable, waited 5 minutes (to give it plenty of time to re-set) and re-attached. Problem solved...at least for now.
