And you reduce your horizontal FOV as a result. Consider the below photo which is a comparing the FOV of a 1080×1080 stretched resolution vs the native resolution of 1920×1080. Stretched res isn’t the same as it was between C1S1-C1S8. It no longer stretches the screen to give a better FOV. Rather it squishes it and actually reduces FOV. The only real benefit is that the characters become bigger which can make easier to hit opponents.
